Macron made the comments as he unveiled his cherished plan for the \u201creindustrialisation\u201d of France including tax credits and other measures aimed at favouring green industry but also vehicles and batteries made in Europe.<\/p>\n<p>He called for \u201ca European regulatory pause\u201d in terms of environmental constraints, arguing that the EU had done \u201cmore than all the neighbours\u201d and that it now \u201cneeded stability\u201d. \u201cWe are ahead, in regulatory terms, of the Americans, the Chinese and of any other power in the world,\u201d said Macron. \u201cWe must not make new changes to the rules,\u201d he added, stressing that this would pose \u201crisks\u201d for the \u201cfinancing\u201d of projects.<\/p>\n<p>Macron has repeatedly expressed alarm over what Paris sees as the protectionist policies of President Joe Biden\u2019s US administration to support industry and the energy transition.
