The Consumer Goods Forum&#8217;s (CGF) Food Waste Coalition of Action has launched #TooGoodToWaste, a major new campaign to tackle food loss and waste among manufacturers, retailers, and the millions of consumers they serve. As part of the campaign, which formally launched late last week, high profile brands such as Tesco, Unilever, and Walmart will share resources and insights with other members of the forum, partners, and consumers in the hope of accelerating efforts to tackle food waste.<\/p>\n<p>Companies will also use the hashtag #TooGoodToWaste as they share their own food waste campaigns, so as to help better engage consumers with messages on how to reduce food loss and waste. The campaign&#8217;s launch comes as figures from the UN Environment Programme claim that some 60 per cent of food waste happens in peoples&#8217; homes, with the World Resources Institute estimating that food loss and waste accounts for up to 10 per cent of annual global greenhouse gas emissions.<\/p>\n<p>However, while research by UK-based waste charity WRAP shows that 81 per cent of consumers are concerned about climate change, just 37 per cent realise the connection with wasting food.
