A solar space farm designed to orbit above the Earth could be operational by 2035. Technology firm Space Solar, based in Oxfordshire in the UK, says the project could contribute to Britain\u2019s energy supply in the future. The 2km-long farm of solar panels would send energy to receivers on Earth much in the same way as mobile phone signals. The company says the solar space technology would produce more renewable energy than terrestrial equivalents.<\/p>\n<p>A solar space farm consists of giant solar panels orbiting above the earth. The inventors have turned to the skies as the next frontier of clean energy due to the intensity of sunlight that can be harvested in space. In space, the sun\u2019s beams are around ten times stronger than on Earth and can be captured 24 hours a day rather than just during daylight hours.
