From carbon emission levels to diversity, equity and inclusion targets, the role of a sustainability practitioner can be an unenvious one. Research conducted by Reuters Events has shone a light on how organizations operating in the U.S. are strategizing across the board, indicating the most popular strategies, and the divergence between those strategies and that of their European counterparts.<\/p>\n<p>While the European Union has been criticised in some circles for a lack of an alternative to the IRA, there have equally been delays in the U.S. Treasury and Internal Revenue Service in issuing guidance about the eligibility for tax credits, leaving businesses in something of a holding pattern. That risk of government shutdowns this year has also posed potential delays to this process.<\/p>\n<p>Likewise, a greater share of organizations operating in North America identified reductions in packaging as a strategic priority to address waste than those in Europe, who placed greater emphasis on the provision of recyclable or reusable product and packaging options to consumers \u2013 an option which is more end-user focused than simple reducing packaging in the first instance.
