The theme of the conference is: \u2018Recycling Industry Transition Towards Vision 2047.\u2019 The three-day event will have detailed deliberations on a roadmap to achieve \u2018Vision 2047\u2019 towards sustainable consumption and production patterns to minimise environmental degradation. 2047 is the centenary of Indian independence.<\/p>\n<p>\u20182024 will be the year in which India\u2019s newly introduced reforms will propel it into a growth trajectory exceeding 8% to cross US$ 4 trillion [EUR 3.6 trillion] GDP\u2019, says MRAI president Sanjay Mehta.<\/p>\n<p>According to Mehta, India has the potential to become a global leader in recycling, given its vast population and the increasing awareness of the importance of sustainability. The country\u2019s recycling industry creates jobs, reduces the impact of waste on the environment, and contributes to the country\u2019s economic growth. The MRAI conference will spotlight the circular economy, net zero emissions, raw material security, zero import duties on non-ferrous metal scrap and innovative technology, among other topics.
