The proposed draft suggests imposing a ban on BPA in varnishes and coatings, as well as professional production equipment within 36 months and 18 months for all other uses.<\/p>\n<p>Exemptions are proposed for specific uses such as the disodium salt of BPA, which is used in the manufacture of polysulfone resins for plastic food contact membranes through the amendment to Regulation (EU) No 10\/2011 on plastic FCMs.<\/p>\n<p>However, the disodium salt of BPA can only be used if its migration into food is undetectable.
