The Econiq brand was launched in 2022 and is certified to be manufactured with low-embodied carbon materials. Econiq-RE is made with 100% renewable energy and greenhouse gas emissions are reduced to less than half that of steel produced by extractive blast furnaces (Scopes 1, 2 &amp; 3).<\/p>\n<p>Mercedes-Benz had previously announced a sustainability tie-up with Steel Dynamics in 2023.<\/p>\n<p>In 2023, Nucor announced Net-Zero greenhouse gas targets for 2050 and used an average of nearly 80% recycled scrap through the company\u2019s circular production process.
