It was harder to misuse shredded tyres in this way, continued the association, noting that it did not object to these exports. The TRA called on Moore \u201cto push officials into action\u201d, asking him in a February letter to \u201censure we do the right and best thing\u201d by ending the export of all but shredded tyres to India. It urged the minister to follow the example of Australia, which banned the export of most whole end-of-life tyres in 2020.<\/p>\n<p>The TRA\u2019s letter went on: \u201cTo be blunt now is time the UK government acknowledged that far from tackling this environmental assault, current policies enable some UK operators to facilitate serious environmental harm. \u201cIt is embarrassing for us as an industry to know such malpractice takes place.
