By 2050, Soorty plans to reduce its combined Scope 1, 2 and 3 GHG emissions by 90% from the 2021 base year.According to the brand, it is the first organisation in Pakistan to set and achieve SBTi validation for its emissions reduction targets.<\/p>\n<p>The company is also aiming to reduce its absolute Scope 1 (operational) and 2 (power-related) GHG emissions by 54% by 2033, using 2021 as the base year. Additionally, Soorty has committed to cutting absolute Scope 3 (indirect) GHG emissions, which include emissions from purchased goods, services, transportation, business travel and energy-related activities, by the same 54% target within the same timeframe.<\/p>\n<p>By 2050, Soorty plans to reduce its combined Scope 1, 2 and 3 GHG emissions by 90% from the 2021 base year. This aligns with the SBTi\u2019s Net-Zero Standard. Soorty Enterprises\u2019 director Asad Soorty said: \u201cThese commitments reflect our unwavering dedication to a sustainable future. \u201cWe believe that by setting these ambitious targets, we are not only contributing to global climate goals but also driving innovation and efficiency within our operations and supply chain.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The brand is committed to responsible sourcing, using cellulosic, regenerative and responsible fibres, along with ZDHC-compliant chemicals. Through Soorty\u2019s Organic Cotton Initiative, more than 1,000 farmer families in Naal are transitioning to organic cotton farming, converting more than 10,000 acres (4,000 hectares) from conventional practices. The company has also invested in renewable energy and water efficiency projects, aiming to reduce dependency on natural resources and minimise waste.<\/p>\n<p>Soorty Enterprises\u2019 group head of corporate sustainable reporting Mobeen Chughtai said: \u201cAchieving these targets is not something a business can do in isolation.
