impassioned pitch for Kamala Harris at a Philadelphia rally with Bruce Springsteen on Monday, telling voters: \u201cIt\u2019s not just policies that are on the ballot, it\u2019s who we are. \u201cWhether this election is making you feel excited or scared, or hopeful, or frustrated, or anything in between: do not sit back,\u201d the former president said. \u201cPut down your phone and vote.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Speaking in the crucial swing state of Pennsylvania as Democrats make a final push for support, Obama \u2013 sleeves rolled up and relaxed \u2013 ripped into Donald Trump with a blend of criticism and humor. \u201cWe have to reject the kind of politics of division and hatred that we saw represented\u201d at Sunday\u2019s Madison Square Garden rally, where a comedian opening for Trump made a series of racist jokes. \u201cHere\u2019s a good rule,\u201d Obama said. \u201cIf somebody does not respect you, if somebody does not see you as fellow citizens with equal claims to opportunity, to the pursuit of happiness, to the American dream, you should not vote for them.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Democrat told the crowd at north Philadelphia\u2019s Temple University he could understand why a Christian might be concerned about abortion rights, \u201cbut does that mean you\u2019ll support somebody who seems to violate pretty much every precept of the 10 Commandments?\u201d He continued: \u201cIf you\u2019re a Muslim American and you\u2019re upset about what\u2019s happening in the Middle East, why would you put your faith in somebody who passed a Muslim ban?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Clearly enjoying himself, Obama questioned whether Trump could handle basic auto repair: \u201cIf he\u2019s got a flat tire, he calls over his chauffeur: \u2018Jeeves!\u2019\u201d Referencing his successor\u2019s moneymaking schemes, he said Trump \u201ccouldn\u2019t recite a verse but he\u2019ll sell you that Bible\u201d \u2013 which, he noted, was made in China. And he made hay of Trump\u2019s claim to have \u201cconcepts of a plan\u201d to tackle healthcare: \u201cHoney, did you do the dishes? No, but I do have a concept of a plan to do the dishes.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>As for Harris, \u201cshe actually cares what people are going through\u201d, Obama said. \u201cYou may not agree with every decision she makes. You didn\u2019t agree with every decision I made,\u201d he acknowledged. But \u201cif you elect Kamala Harris, she will see you. She will hear you.
