GovGrant\u2019s report found that China and Japan accounted for more than half of plastic innovation patents in the past two decades, with the UK also trailing behind the US, Germany, South Korea and France.<\/p>\n<p>Patent filings for biodegradable, butylene-based polymers have also been found to have more than doubled since 2018.
