The CTCI aims to highlight industry innovations across the lifecycle of consumer technology products that reduce waste and climate impact, promote re-use and recycling and therefore result in less disposal of consumer electronics, also known as e-waste.<\/p>\n<p>LG Electronics\u2018 products include televisions, home theatre systems, refrigerators, washing machines, computer monitors, wearable devices, solar modules and smart appliances. The company has developed cushioning materials to package them containing 50% waste polystyrene with recycled vinyl.<\/p>\n<p>As part of its broader sustainability strategy, LG Electronics is aiming to achieve a 95% waste recycling rate at production sites by 2030. This is alongside reducing, separating and strengthening the sorting of business site waste to operate a responsible resource recycling programme for producers. Resources will be saved by expanding the recycled plastics used in raw materials in 19 product categories. The company\u2019s target is to use a cumulative 600,000 tons of recycled plastics in its products by 2030.
