The funding, which also covers end-of-life treatment, targets batteries and solar panels.<\/p>\n<p>The Romanian Ministry of Energy initially cancelled ambitious plans to boost domestic electricity storage capacity in October 2023. The renewed commitment will fund the construction of new battery production, assembly, and recycling facilities. The support will enable similar advanced infrastructure for solar panels.<\/p>\n<p>One of the objectives is to create a minimum of 240 MW (or 480 MWh) of battery electricity storage capacity by June 2026. Parties operating in the battery and solar energy segment have until 21 March to respond to the competitive call.
