It also continued to vigorously enforce the EU competition rules in the areas of antitrust, merger control and State aid control to the benefit of citizens and businesses of all sizes.<\/p>\n<p>In response to a request from the European Council, the Report contains an overview and analysis of State aid decisions and their impact on competition in the Single Market and on EU competitiveness. In 2023, the Commission also started to apply new internal market enforcement tools, the Digital Markets Act and the Foreign Subsidies Regulation, complementing its competition policy toolbox.<\/p>\n<p>The full text of the Report and the accompanying Staff Working Document will be available here.
