Businesses of all sizes and sectors were represented in the survey, which ran last month online \u2013 including the finance sector. Of the respondents, 50% represented companies that had 1,000+ employees and one-third represented organisations with more than \u00a3500m in annual turnover.<\/p>\n<p>Suffice to say, survey respondents represented all sizes of businesses, but many worked at large organisations with the scope to drive real change. As such, this survey provides a timely snapshot of the challenges and opportunities facing businesses large and small when it comes to unlocking finance for sustainability.<\/p>\n<p>While our survey captured an increased top-level willingness to act on environmental sustainability, we also uncovered significant barriers to securing the finance needed to turn ambitions into action. These included budgets being squeezed by current the high cost of energy and materials, and a lack of knowledge on how best to access finance through government incentives and from banking and investment partners. Nonetheless, we also uncovered an array of chances to turn challenges into opportunities.
