The agreement marks the EIF\u2019s largest multi-country energy transition guarantee. The EIF, part of the European Investment Bank Group, supports small businesses by partnering with intermediaries such as banks, leasing firms and microcredit providers. It focuses on high-growth sectors tied to innovation, entrepreneurship and sustainability.<\/p>\n<p>The new \u20ac200m deal is backed by the EU\u2019s InvestEU programme, which pools and streamlines EU investment tools, with the aim of unlocking at least \u20ac372bn in private and public investment using a \u20ac26.2bn EU budget guarantee. It plays a key role in funding projects aligned with EU policy priorities, including the Green Deal and digital transition. The agreement marks the EIF\u2019s largest multi-country guarantee relating to the energy transition and is the first of its kind between the fund and BNP Paribas Leasing Solutions under InvestEU.<\/p>\n<p>It is aimed at increasing leasing options for SMEs looking to adopt sustainable mobility options, green technology and renewable energy. It will also support projects enhancing energy efficiency.
